The WT legal departments’ actions in no way harmonize with how Jesus would have responded. 1Peter 2:23 say of him: ‘…..When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on committing himself to the one who judges righteously.’
So instead of leaving it in Jah’s hands, as Jesus would do, WT flexes its’ legal muscle at the 'examiningthescripturesdaily' web site. IMO that is rather bullish behavior.

Paragraph 1 on page 19 starts out:
“F ATHER” was the term that Jesus often used when talking to and about God. When teaching his followers to pray, Jesus said: “Whenever you pray, say, Father.” (Luke 11:2)
Footnote also says.
“……Paul also refers to God as “Father” over 40 times in his letters.”
Elders and MSs alike can learn a thing or two from Luke 11:2. Whenever you hear a talk or even a prayer by a member of the servant body it seems like every other work is “Jehovah”. Jehovah this Jehovah that! I often wonder if Jehovah himself doesn’t get tired of hearing his name mentioned soo many times in one breath. And the rank and file copy the poor example during question and answer sessions by repeatedly referring to God as ‘Jehovah’ rather than using other expressions of endearment such as ‘Father’.
It is odd that WT would print an article in the public edition of the Watchtower on the matter as though they are an authority on the subject when they themselves are guilty of over using the name ‘Jehovah’ and rarely ever using ‘Father’. Hypocrites!

as i've understood it the gb has taken a vow of poverty.
on jwn they are constantly accused of guilt tripping their subjects to keep distributing there literature to make converts in order to keep growing the number of donations which is a valid point.
i ask this question in all honesty and naivety to see where the truth of the matter lies.
WT has created a monster. And this monster has a big appetite in the way of astronomical overhead costs. In addition to buildings and equipment, this monster has other expenses such as: Numerous departments including a legal department, personnel and living quarters, traveling costs, food and others sundries, insurance and medical costs, lawsuit settlements and the outlay of other expenditures needed to keep this monster alive. Revenue needs to keep rolling in to meet these costs. And so the organization burdens the flock with more and more frequent solicitations for $$$.
Notice the following reminder for the 2012 JW Convention from the April 2012 KM page 3
“Donations: We can show our appreciation for the convention arrangements by making voluntary contributions to the worldwide work at the convention. Any checks should be made payable to “Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.” Beginning this year all conventions will accept debit/credit card donations in addition to cash and checks.”

it is with great interest that i recently read ceders article on the decline of the wts.
his article along with many of the comments really drives home just how many major changes there have been in a fairly short peroid of time.. somewhere in the recent past i could swear that someone had posted a bullet list of major changes with the corresponding year.
when i saw this (or something like it) my first thought was that this simple list made it all the more shocking; and since i have searched and cannot find anything like it.. so i dug around and started one of my own, please feel free to add/corrects events.

9. how does our attitude toward the field ministry.
Jesus said: “All will know you are my disciples if you have Love among yourselves.” (Jh 13:35)
You would think then that the dominant spirit in each JW congregation would be…. Love?
Yet by their own admission par 2 says: “Some congregations are especially known for showing a warm, loving spirit. Others are exceptional in their zealous support of the Kingdom preaching work and in showing a high regard for the full-time ministry ( apparently love takes a back seat in these exceptional congregations ).”
What good is a zealous support of the Kingdom preaching work and in showing high regard for the full-time ministry if a warm loving spirit is missing?
Then they end the paragraph with the question: “What is the spirit of your congregation?”
Why even ask the question? The dominant spirit of each and every JW (Christ Like) Congregation should automatically and logically be Love, Love, Love!
Conclusion of the matter: JW congregations today are likely struggling to display a warm, loving and positive spirit!

9. how does our attitude toward the field ministry.
The article is entitled: “Preserve The Positive Spirit Of The Congregation.” The photographer forgot to have his subjects in the picture on page 18 smile for the camera in order to reflect that ‘Positive Spirit.’ By the looks on them faces I’d sure hate to be a member of that congregation.
Something else that occurred to me…. I don’t see any brothers in the photo. I count 8 maybe 9 sisters at the Watchtower study. There has been talk lately that the Society is in brothers. But this is ridiculous! There appears to be a real need in this congregation for brothers! For all I know its' probably a sister passing around the mic too (LOL).
first of all, i really appreciate it when official, especially "secret," boe letters and the like are posted here.
it's great to have that stuff on hand, straight from the horse's... uhh...mouth, when certain "friends" deny the slave would ever do or say such and such.... anyway, there have been some references to a letter they sent out about using ipads and the like during congregation meetings.
could anyone provide a scan or link to this letter?
My guess is that soon the WT is going to hand down some ‘new light’ on the use of IPads and other such divices at meetings. I’ve noticed at both a recent CA as well as in the congregation I attend young and old alike are using the IPad more and more. I’ve seen many kids as young as 8 years old with their own IPads sitting at meetings. That’s scary to me! It looks like the Great Teacher book, coloring books and the Bible itself on the laps of young ones are going by way of the dinosaur.

The need for courage is overdone in this article. I mean why does it take courage to ask for time off for the convention as stated in paragraph 21? When an employee is sick, does it take courage to ask for a couple of days off in order to get well? No! The person simply tells his boss he can’t come in cause he’s not feeling well.
When an employee wants time off for a vacation does it take courage to ask for time off? No! Because a one to two week vacation is a given in most places of employment and usually you have your boss’ blessings.
So what the hell is the big deal about mustering up courage to ask for time off to attend a JW convention?
Now, if I was ashamed of being a JW it indeed would take a lot of courage to ask my boss for time off so that I could attend a convention. Maybe that’s why some JWs need courage……cause shame is a factor! After all it is a weird religion!
